The main objective of the SMARTOUR project is to produce a COHERENT AND EASY-TO-USE SET OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS that the trainers will be able to use either for training adults responsible for tourism development to apply smart approaches or to provide consultation services to the same target group as the trainers themselves will directly benefit from the use of these educational materials. The final educational materials will be produced in two formats – as downloadable PDF brochures and as an online Moodle based course hosted on the applicant organisation’s Moodle website and made transferable to the partners websites. The educational materials will be produced in English and at the final stages of the project will be translated into languages of the partnership so they can become available also to those not having a proper command of English language.
Obviously, in order to achieve the objective of producing the educational materials a number of partial goals will have to be achieved. Specifically: Needs assessment – The whole process of the project will start with additional needs assessment. In spite of the fact that a research on the status of tourism was carried out in preparatory stages of the project, this will be further enhanced particularly with the aim of defining in details the contents of the educational materials. This process will also involve consultations with the associated partners that can contribute valuable external input regarding the course materials content. The objective of this process is DEVELOPED EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM. Design and educational methodology – In the next step the design of the educational materials will be decided upon, including the design of the e- learning environment. This stage will also see distribution of the responsibilities for particular parts of curriculum to the partners. Again, initial distribution was already decided upon but as we may see some additions and minor but important changes in the curriculum, this will be re-evaluated towards the goal of achieving maximum quality of the course materials. The objective of this process is DESIGNED DOWNLOADABLE MATERIALS, DESIGNED E-LEARNING ENVIRONMENT and DISTRIBUTION OF COURSE MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT AMONG PARTNERS. Development of course materials – The most important partial objective of the project will be in production of high quality educational materials on which the partnership will work. The course materials will be produced initially in English language. The process will be regularly monitored and internally evaluated by P6. The process will result in DEVELOPED SET OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS that will be ready for offline use and for transformation to e-learning course. Development of e-learning course – This objective will be achieved at the same time as development of the course materials. The course will be designed in visually attractive way, as an open educational resource and with utilisation of e-code’s Moodle platform. Once the course content is ready the partnership will be ready to transfer the course materials into e-learning platform and launch its use. The e-learning course will be designed as self-study course. Nevertheless, the users will have to register at the course for the purposes of their easy tracking and dissemination and they will also have a possibility to contact the partnership during the lifetime of the project for consultation. At the end the result will be in fully functional E-LEARNING COURSE in English. Internationalisation of training materials – At the final stages of the project the partners will work on translating the course materials into their own languages. The translations will be also enhanced with case studies that will be most relevant to their own environment so apart of actual translating it will also include further though minor development. The result will be in produced OFFLINE AND ONLINE EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AVAILABLE IN ALL PARTNERSHIP LANGUAGES.
